Sticks and Songs was founded out of seeing the benefits of educating young children in the natural environment, where they are free to play, explore and experiment.
Influenced by the educational work of Orff, Reggio Emilia, Steiner, Montessori and Froebel, Sticks & Songs has carefully crafted programs that are engaging, playful and creative.
Engage in learning with your child through the wonders of nature and the joy of music, with the guidance of an experienced educator to facilitate learning.
Hi! My name is Yvonne. I am an early childhood teacher, with university degrees in Music, Music Therapy and Early Childhood Education. I have worked for over 20 years as a Music Teacher, Music Therapist and a Specialist Classroom Teacher. I am passionate about children having the opportunity to learn through the joy of music and the natural environment.
Children learn the most when they feel safe and regulated, and have the freedom to play and explore the world around them. Time in nature, play and music all provide incredible opportunities for children to learn, but so much more than that. Nature, Music and Play are all closely linked to positive brain development, emotional regulation and building nurturing relationships with others and our environment.
Today's children need more emotional regulation, sensory processing and technology free learning experiences than they ever have before. Learning with nature, music and play at the heart of what we do can address these needs, whilst having the time of our lives!! Join the movement for more nature, more music and more play TODAY!
